Vocal students will receive instruction in the fundamental skills required for healthy singing in a contemporary style and performance coaching. This instruction will take place in group technique class and performance instruction in the morning and specialty classes on recording studio, microphone technique and stylization with private instruction in the afternoon.

Placement Video Guidelines

  • Two songs or excerpts in Pop/Rock/Jazz or Musical Theatre styles.

Time: Do not exceed 5 minutes

Each vocal participant will be expected to learn two songs on his/her own before coming to campus. These pieces should:

  • Reflect Pop/Rock/Jazz and Musical Theatre styles.
  • Vary in tempo (ie: ballad, uptempo)
  • Be memorized before SummerFestival

You will be considered for solo opportunities at the honors student recital and jazz concert during the week.
